Growth Sprocket
Hi I'm Abi
Practical by nature. Human at heart.
I work with business owners who are stuck despite doing everything right, professionals who have stepped up and are wondering if they belong there, and people starting a new chapter who need help working out what it looks like.
I’m not a life coach. But I will listen properly, ask the questions nobody else is asking, and help you build something real.
I lost my dad when I was 19. It was the moment everything shifted. I couldn’t rely on anyone else to figure it out, so I figured it out myself. Since then I have been fiercely, unapologetically independent.
Life hasn’t always gone to plan. But then whose does? What it has given me is range. There’s a quote I love:
“A jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one.”
I have worked in banking, built and sold a business, supported hundreds of companies through growth and change, and raised two fabulous daughters while doing it. I have kept the roof over our heads, been there for them, and shown them that you don’t have to choose between being present and being capable.
The Cake Nest, my online bakery, wasn’t a success because I was a brilliant baker. It was a success because I understood finance, built the right team, and never stopped looking at the bigger picture. It was during this time that I completed the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses programme, which sharpened everything I thought I knew about strategy and planning. When I eventually sold the business, I realised that what I was actually good at had nothing to do with cake. It was people, planning, and making things work when they shouldn’t.
Sound like someone you’d want in your corner?
The best place to start is a free 30 minute Clarity Call. No pitch, no pressure. Just an honest conversation about where you are and whether working together makes sense.
That realisation led me to East Midlands Chamber, where I worked with high growth businesses across the region, helping them develop strategy, manage their finances, and grow with confidence.
I never stop learning. I’m always looking for the next idea, the next approach, the next thing that will make me better at helping the people I work with. Right now that includes AI, not as a gimmick but as a genuine tool for growth. I use it to challenge my own thinking, stay relevant, and help my clients use it without fear.
I am ILM Level 7 qualified in Leadership and Management and a trained Mental Health First Aider. But more than any qualification, what I bring is real experience, genuine curiosity, and a deep belief that most people already know what they need. They just need someone to help them trust it.
I’m not here to tell you what to do. I’m here to help you trust what you already know.
Practical by nature. Human at heart.
